**Job Purpose**:
Lead chloro-alkali plant operations to ensure smooth, timely and quality production operations, as per plans and processes. Role is also responsible for ensuring adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental processes at all production units to create safe work environment

**Job Context**:
This role is responsible to lead operations in chemical plant by providing guidance to the department heads on technical and operational issues to ensure seamless supply of chemicals to the têxtile and industrial yarn production plants while ensuring safe operations. The role is expected to drive process improvement to reduce production cost and improve operational efficiency. Further, the role is also responsible for ensuring safety, health and environment for all Century Chemical operations by continuous monitoring and liaising with regulatory officials to mitigate potential legal risks due to non-compliance.

- Develop and implement operations plan for chemicals production unit to ensure seamless supply for têxtile and industrial yarn production
- Develop annual and monthly production plan aligned to the business and sales strategy
- Develop the annual OPEX and CAPEX projections for addition into the annual operating budget
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on actual working vis-à-vis departmental plan
- Ensure implementation of corrective action to address deviations
- Conduct surprise audits of unit to monitor adherence to the functional policies and procedures
- Support HR head for managing Industrial relations and addressing labour issues
- KRA2
- Lead manufacturing operations by providing appropriate guidance to the unit in-charges to ensure production is in line with the target plan and is of desired quality
- Coordinate and review the work plan for each unit operations
- Plan machinery, manpower and materials for all the units; ensure operational effectiveness of utilities and equipment
- Conduct periodic review of production units’ performance with respect to productivity, costs and quality
- Ensure upkeep of machineries and equipment’s to enable continuous operations
- Identify deviations and undertake course corrective measures
- Identify targets for unit in-charges and monitor them on regular basis
- Prove guidance to unit incharge for identifying & resolving production related issues thus ensuring that production volumes are achieved as per the plan
- Ensure the implementation and correct usage of ERP and other systems to monitor production activities and inventory levels
- Coordinate with Purchase team to ensure timely availability of raw materials, spares and other consumables, necessary to achieve uninterrupted production

- Drive process excellence and cost reduction initiatives in all operations activities in order to improve profitability, productivity and efficiency
- Oversee existing manufacturing processes and ensure development of standard operating procedures for machines and equipment
- Identify process improvement opportunities; prepare a business case and seek approval from top management.
- Coordinate with projects for up gradation of existing infrastructure & availability of latest technology.
- Reduce environmental and natural resources footprints
- Incorporate Good Manufacturing Practices in the production processes
- Ensure documentation of observed production-related issues and their subsequent solutions to ensure process stability
- Ensure that the units perform machine analysis for existing machines and defect analysis of produced goods to identify methods of improving production efficiency
- Undertake cost reduction & quality improvement initiatives to reduce the same thus optimizing overall cost of the product
- Ensure unit-wise and consolidated reporting of energy requirements at all levels of production to cost controller in overall cost analysis
- Optimize energy requirement by driving process improvement

- Supervise daily safety operations and drive safety campaigns to ensure healthy and safety working culture
- Partner with the plant heads to identify gaps in operations from safety perspective; develop and implement action plan for the same
- Provide guidance to management and employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes
- Finalize safety training modules and ensure safety training and mock drills are conducted for all employees
- Review accidents reports and ensure incidents are investigated to identify cause of accident

- Collaborate and engage with key stakeholders and regulatory authorities to ensure adherence to manufacturing plan and ensure seamless support from the organization to the operations team
- Drive production planning and projects by partnering with functional heads an
