The Esya Centre is committed to producing empirical research and thought leadership to drive innovative policy solutions. Our work focuses on the intersection of technology, competition, digital markets, and governance, aiming to build institutional capacities and inform policymaking in India and beyond.

About the Role
- Fellows are expected to lead research across Esya’s focus areas, including antitrust in digital markets, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, creative and green economies, and internet and data governance. They will work directly with the Director to shape research agendas, deliver high-quality outputs, and engage with external stakeholders.
- This is an in-person role based in New Delhi, requiring a minimum of two days per week in office.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Authoring long-form reports, issue briefs, consultation responses, blogs, and op-eds.

2. Leading and supporting wider research projects, including literature reviews, survey design, and analysis.

3. Collaborating with colleagues across research verticals and supporting cross
- functional initiatives as needed.

4. Assisting in organising events, workshops, and roundtable discussions, including providing administrative and logístical support.

5. Building and maintaining relationships with policymakers, industry representatives, and academic institutions to strengthen the Centre’s outreach and

impact.

6. Supporting the Centre’s institution-building efforts through internal process development and strategic planning.

7. Contributing to the Centre’s public outreach activities, including through digital media platforms.

Eligibility

1. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law or public policy.

2. Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in technology policy, regulation, governance, or adjacent areas.

3. Demonstrated ability to conceptualise and manage research projects independently.

4. Strong research and writing skills, with a track record of producing clear, concise, and insightful outputs.

Experience in stakeholder engagement and external representation.

High degree of initiative, ownership, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
