The Role

As a Mainframe Operator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a Mainframe Operator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Minimum 4+ years' experience in Mainframes batch and console operations Proficient in MVS, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, Mainframe System Knowledge, Basics of Mainframe operations, networking.
- Expertise on monitoring tools like IBM Omega Mon, CA Insight, BMC Main view etc.
- Good Knowledge on z/OS and DB2 system performance tuning methods.
- DB2, CICS and other Mainframe related Tools for Batch Environment Experience in scheduling on-request batch jobs that require immediate execution.
- Experience in working on console.
- Ability to invoke resolution and restart procedures in case of failures in the batch jobs.
- Mainframe System Knowledge, Basics of Mainframe operations, networking.
- Expertise on monitoring tools like IBM Omega Mon, CA Insight, BMC Main view etc.
- Good Knowledge on z/OS and DB2 system performance tuning methods.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Working knowledge on Mainframes job operations tools such as CA7 / Control-You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge technologies.
- Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management.
- Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications.
