Actuarial Tester

To work under the direction of a Qualified Actuary or other more senior team members.
- As an Tester the person will be required to work in a number of teams across the department. The technical requirements of each role will vary depending on the team the person is in, and will be reflected in her/his annual objectives.
- M&G maintains a suite of tools which together comprise the capital model used for external Solvency II Reporting and internal Economic Capital risk management. These are a mix of vendor-supplied solutions and in-house bespoke software. The evolving needs of the business necessitate continual development and upgrade of this software suite with current plans already extending into 2018.
- While some of the tools are non-numerical, by nature, most of the components are actuarial calculation systems and testing comprises both IT aspects and validation of the numerical results. A multi-skilled team is therefore being set up who can support both aspects of the systems testing. The team will interface with the Actuarial team and the London-based IT test team in the Group Head Office.
- Additionally, in the ICM office in Mumbai, there are several teams of end users who are able to support the testing team in validating both systems behaviour and numerical outputs.
