Work closely at all times with the project team, collaborating fully with other staff in a multidisciplinary approach to children’s needs.
- Ensure that a significant part of time in each week is spent in children’s group, in order to develop a closer understanding of the children and to support staff in their working situation when applicable.
- Support family members, particularly parents, in understanding their child’s needs and give individual counseling when applicable in areas relating to their child, with a particular focus on enabling the parent to develop a positive approach.
- Facilitate and lead family groups (parents, siblings, grandparents, etc) in conjunction with other center staff.
- Carry out individual counseling or group work with children or young adults as applicable, in collaboration with other center staff.
- Participate in multi -disciplinary on-going monitoring of individual children’s programs, and work with families and other staff to develop/update intervention plans.
- Maintain written records of work done with children or families, and make these available on a “need to know” basis to other professional staff who are involved with that child.
- Prepare formal reports or other documents regarding individual children when requested by the project head, using language which is accessible to the reader (including to families).
- Maintain professional standards of confidentiality in matters relating to children, families and staff. As part of this, the psychologist should share information with other team members who are involved with a particular child only if such information related directly to their work.
- Provide counseling support to center staff if applicable in areas which relate directly to their work.
- Provide counseling support to other Latika centers as and when requested by the senior staff.
- Assist in and when applicable lead internal and external trainings/workshop which relate to your field of expertise, as requested by your supervisor.
- Conduct assessments at Jaanch, write and deliver reports.
- Plan and provide specialist training in Counseling techniques to staff in Latika.
- Provide advice and support on new practices for Psychologists/Counselors including advice on changes which would improve practice
- Provide a bank of resource material for Psychologists/Counselors of Latika to apply
- Organise presentations on relevant topics at training sessions run by Latika

**In addition to the above, a Psychologist may be asked by the Senior Staff to**:
1. Represent Latika at conferences and other networking opportunities.

2. Participate in research initiatives undertaken by Latika.

Like all professional staff, the Psychologist must:
1. Read and understand Latika’s Code of Conduct and comply with all

Latika's policies, including those regarding child protection, supervision and appraisal, attendance and leaves.

2. Keep up-to-date with professional developments relevant to your work and attend appropriate training opportunities when approved by the reporting manager.

3. Observe full professional standards in working with children, families and staff, including the immediate reporting of any concerns regarding child protection issues.

4. Participate in project, team and Latika's meetings or workshops as applicable.

5. Carry out any further duties which may be requested by senior staff or the reporting manager which are in accordance with your professional skills.
