**English teacher responsibilities**
- Develop and deliver engaging and effective English lessons that meet the needs of students at all levels of proficiency.
- Create and maintain an inviting and safe classroom environment that fosters learning and encourages student participation.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback on academic performance, behavior, and other relevant areas.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure that students receive a well-rounded educational experience that promotes their overall academic success.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to keep up-to-date with the latest teaching techniques, technologies, and best practices in the field of English education.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of student progress and any issues that may arise.
- Prepare and administer assessments, including quizzes, tests, and final exams, to evaluate student learning and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student grades, attendance, and other relevant data.

**English teacher required skills**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.
- Proficiency in the use of technology, including learning management systems, digital assessment tools, and other educational software.
- Ability to plan, organize, and deliver effective lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative as needed.
- Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing student needs and classroom dynamics.

**Required qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- State teaching certification or licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in English education.
- Familiarity with state standards for English education.
- Strong commitment to professional growth and development.
