The Asia Pacific regional team includes policy, technology, marketing and Mobile 4 Development (M4D) spread across the region but mostly concentrated between office in Delhi and in Hong Kong.
The policy team has mix of experiences and skills from government, MNO and industry; the team is supported by the multi-function global team of experts based in London.
The policy team moderates and prioritizes the execution of GSMA spectrum and policy programs alongside member national and regional issues to support the mission to advance policy and regulation for a sustainable and innovative mobile sector. Maintaining an active community of member spectrum policy and regulatory leadership, the team engages with policymakers and regulators to advance policy discourse, contribute to market research, and conveys the perspectives of the mobile industry across the range of issues that surround the digital economy and society.
The Continuously developing and evolving relationships with government and policy stakeholders, the team also provides primary insight on regional policy priorities to the global team.

About the Role

The Project Coordinator APAC reports into the Head of Public Policy, APAC which is part of the Asia Pacific Regional team.

The Project Coordinator APAC will work closely with the Head of Public Policy to prepare and deliver comprehensive action plans for public policy projects in APAC. Projects will range from advocacy programs to coordinating industry-leading events such as Mobile World Congress Barcelona and the Mobile 360 APAC.
Key roles and responsibilities include the following:

- Supporting the public policy team with meeting and presentation preparation, talking points, policy analyses and research.
- Tracking policy developments, news and public statements and collecting intelligence as well as collating such data into briefing documents. This will involve picking out what is most relevant and being able to clearly explain the context, likely next steps and potential impact.
- Build and maintain relationships with “Points of Contacts” with key external stakeholders including government officials and public policy industry executives.
- Supporting the event management process to strengthen the activities and positioning of the GSMA in APAC, including handling the logístical details, pre
- and post-event briefings, and communications with different stakeholders.
- Responsible for inputting the policy contribution to newsletters and managing stakeholder database
- Collaborate with a range of internal GSMA teams to support their projects with expertise and analysis.

About You
- You will have good project management skills, strong organisational and time management skills and have attention to detail.
- You will have the ability to work independently, co-operatively and flexibly with stakeholders and facilitate collaborative approach
- You will have strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- You will work as part of cross functional teams to manage regional initiatives and other ad-hoc activities to support the GSMA APAC and London teams, as required.
- Desirable but not essential, an understanding of the mobile industry
