Interior Design Faculty

We are seeking a talented and passionate Interior Design Faculty member to join our educational institution. As a member of our faculty, you will be responsible for instructing and guiding students in the field of interior design. Your expertise, creativity, and industry experience will contribute to shaping the next generation of interior designers.

**Responsibilities**:
Curriculum Development: Develop and update the curriculum for interior design courses, ensuring alignment with industry trends, standards, and best practices.

Course Instruction: Deliver engaging and comprehensive lectures, presentations, and workshops on various aspects of interior design, including design principles, materials, construction techniques, space planning, and drafting.

Studio Instruction: Provide hands-on guidance and feedback to students in design studios, fostering their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical skills.

Project Supervision: Supervise and mentor students during design projects, offering constructive criticism, advice, and support to enhance their learning and growth.

Critique and Assessment: Conduct critiques of student work, evaluating their design concepts, presentations, and portfolios, and providing constructive feedback for improvement.

Industry Engagement: Stay current with industry trends and maintain relationships with industry professionals, inviting guest speakers, organizing field trips, and arranging internship opportunities for students.

Research and Scholarship: Engage in research and scholarly activities in the field of interior design, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and sharing findings through publications, presentations, or exhibitions.

Academic Support: Assist students in developing study plans, selecting appropriate courses, and providing guidance on career opportunities in the field of interior design.

Faculty Collaboration: Collaborate with other faculty members to develop interdisciplinary projects, encourage cross-disciplinary learning, and contribute to a vibrant and inclusive academic community.

Professional Development: Continuously enhance your own knowledge and skills by attending workshops, conferences, and industry-related events, sharing acquired knowledge with colleagues and students.

Qualifications:
Education: A master's degree in interior design, architecture, or a closely related field is required.

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as an interior designer or a related field is required. Experience in teaching or mentoring students is highly desirable.

Expertise: Strong knowledge of interior design principles, space planning, materials, construction techniques, drafting, and software tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts effectively to students of diverse backgrounds.

Creativity: Demonstrated creativity and innovative thinking in interior design, with a portfolio showcasing your design work and accomplishments.

Industry Engagement: Proven engagement with the interior design industry through professional affiliations, conferences, publications, or other related activities.

Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Passion for Teaching: A genuine passion for teaching and mentoring students, fostering their development and success in the field of interior design.

Organization and Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively and meet deadlines.

Technology Skills: Proficiency in relevant software tools and technology used in the field of interior design, with a willingness to adapt to new tools and technologies as needed.
