The SQL Server Database Administrator will be part of our global IT Services team in Pune.

**Job Profile**

**Responsibilities**
- Support physical database administration including performance management, security, installations, upgrades, patches, backup, recovery, space management, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Ensure that all databases’ environments are deployed, maintained, and managed via proactive monitoring of performance and capacity planning of RDBMS
- Managing database backup and recovery
- Managing database security, roles, and profiles
- Ensure data requirements have been identified, design is fully normalized, and the database complies with industry best practices and strict security requirements
- Supporting the critical data and content migration teams will also be a significant part of the job
- Part of on-call support to maintain 7x24 coverage of the database environment
- Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- 5+ years of MS SQL Server Administration experience required managing versions 2012 to 2019
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience with backups restores, and recovery models
- Experience implementing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality
- Ability to organize and plan work independently
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams

**Preferred**:

- Knowledge and hands-on experience in Oracle or Mongo DB will be an advantage
- MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus
