Billing Coordinator

**Role Summary**:
The **IP Billing Coordinator** is responsible for managing the inpatient (IP) billing process, ensuring accuracy in patient billing, coordinating with various hospital departments, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
**Key Responsibilities:1. Inpatient Billing & Charges Management**:
- Generate and process inpatient bills accurately, ensuring proper charge capturing.
- Verify and reconcile billing details, including doctor fees, procedure charges, room rent, investigations, pharmacy, consumables, and other hospital services.
- Coordinate with various departments (Nursing, Pharmacy, Lab, Radiology, etc.) to ensure all patient services are included in the bill.
- Monitor daily IP billing transactions and ensure timely updates.
**2. Patient & Attendant Coordination**:
- Explain the billing process, charges, and estimated cost of treatment to patients and their attendants.
- Address patient queries and concerns regarding their hospital bills.
- Assist in insurance pre-authorization, approvals, and coordination for cashless treatments.
- Ensure smooth discharge billing and clearance process to avoid delays.
**3. Coordination with Insurance & TPA (Third-Party Administrators)**:
- Liaise with insurance companies and TPA for pre-approvals, claim submissions, and payment follow-ups.
- Ensure documentation and compliance with insurance guidelines.
- Assist in claim processing and resolving discrepancies in insurance payments.
**4. Payment Collection & Reconciliation**:
- Ensure timely collection of payments from cash, insurance, and corporate clients.
- Verify and update payments received against patient accounts.
- Handle refunds, adjustments, and credit notes as per hospital policies.
**5. Reporting & Documentation**:
- Maintain accurate records of patient bills, approvals, and financial transactions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly billing reports for management review.
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance.
**6. Compliance & Process Adherence**:
- Ensure billing processes adhere to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for billing and financial transactions.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient financial information.
**Required Qualifications & Skills**:
- **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Hospital Administration, or a related field.
- **Experience**: 3-6 years of experience in hospital billing, preferably in inpatient billing.
- **Technical Skills**: Knowledge of hospital billing software and MS Excel.
- **Soft Skills**: Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- **Other Requirements**: Understanding of hospital billing policies, insurance procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Pay: ₹15,500.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
