**Position Overview**:
The IT Server Administrator is responsible for the administration, management, and maintenance of the organization’s server infrastructure. This includes both physical and virtual servers, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and reliability. The role also involves troubleshooting server issues, implementing security measures, and performing routine server maintenance, upgrades, and backup tasks to support organizational operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Server Installation & Configuration**:

- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
- Set up, manage, and configure both physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, UNIX, etc.).
- **Server Maintenance & Monitoring**:

- Monitor the health, performance, and uptime of servers, ensuring maximum availability.
- Proactively manage system resources (CPU, RAM, disk usage) and ensure efficient utilization.
- Ensure server configurations are optimized to meet performance and security requirements.
- **Security Management**:

- Implement and manage server security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and encryption.
- Conduct regular security audits and resolve any identified vulnerabilities.
- Configure and manage user access controls, including setting permissions and ensuring authentication methods are properly implemented.
- **Backup & Disaster Recovery**:

- Develop, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies for critical server data.
- Ensure regular backups of all key systems and test disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshoot and restore lost or corrupted data when necessary.
- **Troubleshooting & Incident Management**:

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve server-related issues including hardware, software, or network failures.
- Respond to and resolve server-related service requests in a timely manner.
- Perform root cause analysis on major incidents to prevent recurrence.
- **Performance Optimization**:

- Monitor server performance metrics and adjust resources to optimize server efficiency and reliability.
- Implement performance tuning strategies to enhance server responsiveness.
- Review and recommend hardware upgrades as necessary.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, network setups, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Produce and maintain reports on server performance, uptime, and security incidents.
- Document system changes, updates, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- **Collaboration & Support**:

- Collaborate with other IT staff (network engineers, database administrators, system architects) to ensure server systems integrate seamlessly with other infrastructure components.
- Provide technical support and assistance to other departments as needed.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), CompTIA Server+, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) are preferred.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, and/or UNIX).
- Hands-on experience with server virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Experience with server monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
- **Security and Backup**:

- Strong understanding of server security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Knowledge of data backup software and disaster recovery procedures.
- **Problem Solving & Troubleshooting**:

- Ability to troubleshoot server-related issues and identify solutions under pressure.
- Analytical mindset to perform root cause analysis and resolve recurring issues.
- **Communication Skills**:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.

Pay: ₹240,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per year
