- The US Tax Analyst reports to the Tax Senior Manager and is primarily responsible for US sales tax compliance for multiple state and local jurisdictions. Requires a working knowledge of sales and Use tax regulations and the ability to research and react to the ever-changing tax laws. Prepares required tax calculations and filings for review by the Sales Tax Manager. Strong Excel skills, strong verbal and written communication, working knowledge of accounting fundamentals are required._
- Responsibilities_
- _Query, compile, and analyse item and sales data for tax compliance._
- _Calculate sales and use tax remittance as well as prepare corresponding journal entries._
- _Prepare, reconcile, and upload monthly tax returns for sales, use, excise, and cigarettes in accordance with respective state requirements._
- _Perform monthly G/L account reconciliations for those accounts utilized by the sales tax department._
- _Research tax regulations as issues arise._
- _Manage tax indicators in SAP for products sold at point-of-sale by working with internal Master Data partners._
- _Working independently on special projects (technical research, cross functional initiatives, etc.) as needed_
- _Also, Fuel Tax knowledge is added advantage_
- Qualifications we seek in you_
- Minimum Qualifications_
- Master’s Degree with 7-8 years sales tax or accounting experience preferred_

- Preferred Qualifications/ Skills_
- _General understanding of retail and point-of-sale required_
- _Excellent verbal and written communication skills required_
- _Great team player attitude and the ability to multi-task is required_
- _Knowledge of state and local sales tax regulations preferred_
- _Strong Excel skills required, SAP, Alteryx, Fuel Smart and Taxware experience preferred_
