JOB DESCRIPTION
- **Lathes where no computer is used for control** are called conventional lathes. In addition to the universal lathe, there are various other versions of the conventional lathe such as the turret head lathe, the center lathe, the copy lathe, the head lathe (for large workpieces), and the carousel lathe.

Perform operation of CNC lathes to fabricate parts.

Load parts in the machine, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations and inform supervisor.

Assure removal of chips in machine and perform oil changes as needed.

Provide continual monitoring of quality by self-checking machined part dimensions.

Supports manufacturing of product to meet company standards and specifications through performing duties in a professional manner within a cohesive team environment.

Perform in a safe and productive manner in compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as required by supervisor or management.
- Safely and skillfully operates a cold milling machine following all standard equipment procedures.
- Responsible for proper usage of grade control devices.
- Maintains equipment in proper operating condition by performing simple preventive maintenance and repair tasks such as adjusting, fluid checks, replacing minor parts and lubricating equipment.
- Responsible for daily checks of the milling drum, conveyors and water supply systems.
- Responsible for daily inspection and replacement of milling teeth on the milling drum to assure proper cutting patterns on pavement surfaces.
- Must maintain an acute sense of awareness to the surrounding footprint of the machine (watch for obstructions while operating the equipment, such as ground utilities, curb and gutters).
- Maintain constant visual contact with co-workers on the ground and trucks in front of the machine.

- Conventional Lathe Machine: 2 years (preferred)
- Milling Machine: 2 years (preferred)
- Machine Operator: 2 years (preferred)
