General Summary of Duties:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, execution, support, and follow-up of Operation Smile’s medical programs in India. This requires the ability to balance several projects at once. The Program Coordinator will work with the Executive Director, India as well as OSI regional teams achieving these goals. The Program Coordinator is responsible for all activities pertaining to Operation Smile surgical and non surgical program s.

Program matic responsibilities:

- Work with program team to facilitate recruitment of medical volunteers for surgical programs.
- Work along with l ogistics Coordinator for procurement, packing and transportation of all medical supplies necessary for short term programs as well as hospital partnerships.
- Plan execute/lead missions within India (fact find, patient recruitment, NGO and CBO partnerships, hospital relation ship building, mission execution, etc. ).
- Fact Finds and assessment trips to set up and prepare for programs in new sites/countries for missions.
- Work alon gside the patient coordinators to creat e a patient recruitment plan and ensure its proper implementation.
- Work with Program Officers, country and regional management as well as OSI Education department for implementing education programs in India.
- Be responsible for programmatic reporting (Shirt term programs, centers and education programs) that one manages.
- Oversee a competitive pricing select ion of all vendors for mission s to include local transportation, transit and site hotels, team meals, patient meals, etc.
- Book domestic flights for all local and international volunteers.
- Process Purchase orders for all vendors and ensure final payments are made after cross verification of all bills and invoices.
- Provide timely and accurate reports on programs to help plan and develop future programs and to provide feedback to our sponsors and volunteers.
- Willing to travel upto 50% of the time.

Experience Required (education/work):

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Development Studies, International Development, Public Health, International Relations preferred)
- Two years of not for profit program / project experience
- Comfortable with extensive tr avel over long periods of time
- Medical field exposure would be helpful
- Freshers with Internship experience are welcome to apply

Skills Required:

- Excellent oral and written Hindi and English communication skills required. Knowledge of additional Indian Languages a bonus.
- Excellent leadership, management, and interpersonal/social skills required
- Must have multi-cultural understanding and sensitivity and be able to communicate effectively in such an environment
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills and be able to prioritize requests efficiently and effectively
- Must be able to problem solve and communicate needs appropriately in high pressure situations
- Must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Must be a highly motivated, driven and committed individual with self-awareness and flexibility
- Must be willing to travel up to 80% of the time
