**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Fleet Maintenance Management**:

- Ensure regular maintenance of all vehicles in the fleet (servicing, oil changes, brake inspections, etc.).
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Coordinate with external workshops and in-house mechanics to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
- Maintain records of all maintenance work done on vehicles, including repair history and parts replacement.
- **Breakdown and Emergency Management**:

- Establish a rapid response protocol for vehicle breakdowns or roadside assistance.
- Coordinate with drivers, towing services, and mechanics to ensure quick recovery and repair of vehicles.
- Keep spare vehicles ready to minimize service disruption in case of breakdowns.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Ensure all taxis meet the required safety standards and comply with government regulations, including emission norms and road safety certifications.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal operating condition.
- Stay updated with changes in transportation laws and regulations in India.
- **Inventory and Spare Parts Management**:

- Oversee inventory management for spare parts and maintenance tools.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and manage relationships with vendors for procurement.
- Negotiate with suppliers for the best pricing on parts and services.
- **Team Management**:

- Lead and manage a team of in-house mechanics, technicians, and maintenance staff.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed to a high standard.
- Train mechanics on vehicle maintenance best practices and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- **Cost Control and Budgeting**:

- Develop and manage the budget for fleet maintenance operations.
- Monitor maintenance costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising vehicle safety and performance.
- Approve and track expenditures related to parts, services, and maintenance operations.
- **Vendor and Workshop Coordination**:

- Maintain relationships with external service centers, workshops, and auto-parts suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts for outsourced repair work and manage vendor performance.
- Ensure timely completion of outsourced repairs and adherence to service agreements.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed records of vehicle repairs, maintenance schedules, spare parts usage, and maintenance expenses.
- Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, downtime, maintenance costs, and vehicle availability.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to vehicle uptime, repair frequency, and maintenance costs.
- **New Vehicle Inspection and Setup**:

- Inspect and prepare new vehicles being added to the fleet, ensuring they meet operational standards.
- Coordinate the installation of taxi-specific equipment (meters, GPS systems, branding) in new vehicles.
- **Experience**:

- 10+ years of experience in fleet or vehicle maintenance, preferably in the taxi or rental car industry.
- Experience managing a team of mechanics and working with a large fleet of vehicles.
- **Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for diagnosing vehicle issues and determining repair strategies.
- Ability to manage maintenance software systems for tracking repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
