**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform routine laboratory tests on samples from animals, including blood, urine, feces, and other bodily fluids, to aid in diagnosis and monitoring of health conditions.
- Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
- Prepare and label samples for analysis, following established protocols and maintaining strict quality control standards.
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results, reporting findings to veterinarians and animal care staff.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of animals, providing valuable insights based on laboratory findings.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized records of laboratory tests, results, and procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new testing protocols and techniques.
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials and adhere to safety protocols within the laboratory environment.
- Participate in regular quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory tests.
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary laboratory techniques, technologies, and relevant scientific literature.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field is typically required.
- Previous experience as a Lab Technician in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or medical laboratory is preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, instruments, and procedures related to animal health diagnostics.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage samples, records, and documentation.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with veterinary staff and present findings.
- Proficiency in using laboratory software and tools for data analysis and record-keeping.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care, with a commitment to animal welfare.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand, bend, and perform laboratory tasks for extended periods.
- Lift and carry laboratory equipment, supplies, and animal samples as needed.
