Student Counsellor

**Job Summary**:
The Academic Counselor at Brahmastra Academy guides students in their academic journey, helping them make informed decisions about their courses, career paths, and overall development. This role requires a deep understanding of educational programs offered by the academy and the ability to support students in overcoming any academic or personal challenges.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Student Advising**:

- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students regarding course selection, academic planning, and career options.
- Assist students in understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and interests to help them choose appropriate academic paths.
- **Academic Support**:

- Monitor students' academic progress and provide strategies for improvement.
- Work with students who are struggling academically to identify problems and develop action plans.
- Offer guidance on time management, study habits, and exam preparation.
- **Career Counseling**:

- Help students explore various career opportunities related to their field of study.
- Provide resources and guidance on internships, job placements, and further education opportunities.
- Conduct career workshops, seminars, and information sessions.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
- Participate in the development and implementation of student orientation programs.
- **Emotional and Personal Support**:

- Offer support to students facing personal or social challenges that may impact their academic performance.
- Refer students to appropriate resources for additional support, such as mental health services.
- **Parental Engagement**:

- Communicate with parents/guardians about their child’s academic progress and any concerns.
- Organize meetings with parents to discuss strategies for supporting their child's education.
- **Outreach and Promotion**:

- Promote the academy’s programs and counseling services to prospective students and parents.
- Assist in the organization of events, workshops, and promotional activities.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Proven experience in academic counseling or a related role.
- Strong understanding of educational programs, career options, and student development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
