A production supervisor in our fabrication workshop has these responsibilities, including:

- **Managing workflow**: Assigning tasks, preparing schedules, and monitoring productivity
- **Ensuring safety**: Overseeing the safe use of equipment, scheduling maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines
- **Quality control**: Verifying production output, ensuring quality control standards are met, and addressing quality issues
- **Inventory management**: Managing inventory levels and coordinating with supply chain staff
- **Training and development**: Ensuring staff receive appropriate training and providing coaching and counseling
- **Performance reporting**: Preparing reports on performance and progress and presenting them to senior authorities.
- **Improving processes**: Identifying areas for improvement, anticipating and diagnosing production problems, and developing and recommending improvements
- **Supervising fabrication yard activities**: Supervising fit up, welding, lifting, piping installation, and other fabrication and installation operations
- **Coordinating activities**: Coordinating activities with subcontractors involved in assembly stages

Production supervisors typically have:
