Front Desk Receptionist

Job Summary: The front desk receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff at the medical clinic. They are responsible for managing administrative tasks, coordinating patient appointments, maintaining accurate records, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
Register new patients by collecting necessary personal and medical information and entering it into the electronic health records system.
Schedule patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of clinic resources and maintaining a balanced appointment schedule.
Answer phone calls, screen and direct them to the appropriate department or personnel.
Respond to patient inquiries, providing accurate information about clinic services, policies, and procedures.
Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments or payments for services rendered.
Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information.
Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations.
Manage and organize patient files, including filing, scanning, and retrieving documents as needed.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients.
Collaborate with other clinic staff to address any patient concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
Stay updated on clinic policies, procedures, and industry regulations to provide accurate information to patients and staff.
Handle basic administrative tasks such as sorting mail, managing office supplies, and maintaining inventory.
Qualifications:
Graduation (additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus).
Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar customer service role.
Familiarity with medical terminology and basic understanding of healthcare practices.
Proficient in using electronic health records systems and other office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various responsibilities efficiently.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult or emotional situations with empathy and professionalism.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
