Warehouse Assistant

As a Warehouse Associate in our retail and distribution company, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our warehouse facilities. You will be responsible for various tasks related to receiving, storing, and distributing goods efficiently and accurately. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential to ensure customer satisfaction and the success of our operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Receiving: Receive incoming shipments, verifying their contents against purchase orders or manifests. Ensure accuracy in quantity, quality, and documentation of received goods.
- Inventory Management: Properly label, store, and organize merchandise within the warehouse. Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records using our designated systems.
- Order Picking: Fulfill customer orders by accurately selecting the correct items from the warehouse shelves or designated locations. Prepare orders for shipment according to company standards.
- Packing and Shipping: Safely and securely pack orders for shipment, ensuring that items are protected from damage during transit. Generate shipping labels and arrange for the timely dispatch of outgoing shipments.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing merchandise for any defects or damages. Report any issues to the appropriate personnel and assist in resolving quality-related issues.
- Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks in a safe and efficient manner. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols when using equipment.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the warehouse. Regularly clean work areas, aisles, and storage racks to ensure a safe and sanitary workspace.
- Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations governing warehouse operations.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the warehouse. Actively participate in initiatives to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, order picking, and shipping processes.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and proficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects repeatedly.
