The Associate Curator will play a pivotal role in shaping the museum’s exhibitions and programming while ensuring seamless cross-departmental coordination. This position requires a creative, strategic, and organized individual to manage the Exhibitions department and oversee all aspects of exhibition planning, execution, and archiving.
- Develop compelling, innovative exhibition concepts and projects as part of managing the exhibitions department's role.
- Oversee planning, budgeting, timeline management, and execution of exhibitions.
- Review exhibition proposals, artist gifts, and potential acquisitions to ensure alignment with MAP’s vision and mission.
- Collaborate on the production of publications associated with exhibitions, working closely with the Museum’s Graphic Designer, external Copy Editor, and, when needed, guest writers or outside publishers/designers.
- Coordinate with guest curators, scholars, and collaborators to deliver high-quality exhibitions.
- Visit galleries, museums, and artists’ studios to stay updated on contemporary art, museum practices, and curatorial trends.
- Manage the museum’s long-term exhibition calendar to ensure strategic alignment with institutional goals.
- Support the team in managing exhibition consultants, vendors, interns, and researchers.
- Oversee digital projects within the exhibitions department.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and streamline workflows across teams.
- Provide exhibition tours to groups and individuals for educational, publicity, and development purposes.
- Act as an ambassador for the Museum by participating in juries, conferences, and panels, and representing MAP in external exhibitions.
- Oversee in-depth research for exhibitions and related projects.
- Guide exhibition design and production in collaboration with the Exhibition Manager, ensuring alignment with MAP’s vision and standards.
- Propose and support the display of artwork at off-site locations to expand MAP’s reach and visibility.

Pay: Up to ₹120,000.00 per month
