Structured hybrid role:
Introduction:
As an Infrastructure Engineer you will report into the Application Platforms Engineering Lead, playing a key role in building the products, services, software, APIs, and infrastructure that will be central to this new strategy, ensuring we have a world-class product set which is simplified and provides long term sustainable business value

What will you be doing?
- Build world class platforms for running containers on-premises and in public cloud venues
- Design and provide solutions for container and cloud integrations for internal clients within GTIS and external Barclays teams
- Deliver infrastructure, platforms, software, and features as part of an agile scrum team, playing a key role in retrospectives and helping early careers where needed.
- Support release activities, ensuring that deliverables safely reach production to deliver the highest levels of client experience
- Collaborate with business customers and GTIS and CTO to discuss priorities and requirements.
- Quickly learn, test and develop new technologies in our Engineering Lab environments
- Develop automation software and capabilities to support the GTIS 'container first' journey
- Being part of a highly skilled infrastructure and development team working on modern automation principles

What we’re looking for:

- Experience configuring, using or maintaining Kubernetes (Openshift or EKS or AKS)
- Experience in developing and coding software using Python or Golang
- Experience with Docker, Containers and Cloud-Native utilities and software

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

- Graduate/ post graduate

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Experience in writing Ansible Playbooks or Chef Cookbooks
- Foundational understanding of Cloud technologies within AWS or Azure,
- Familiarity with complex system integrations, REST APIs, Observability, Telemetry and microservice-based architectures
