**About myNachiketa**

MyNachiketa Foundation is inspired by Nachiketa, a character in the Upanishads, who asks philosophical questions to Yama in his childhood. We seek to bring philosophical ideas and concepts in Hinduism to children in creative ways. We are designing innovative products including books, games, workshops, etc. to bring this knowledge to kids. Our method is to encourage kids to question and think of various different ways of arriving at answers, rather than developing a regimented thought process. Our goal is to reach every kid globally with this knowledge, help them critically reason, and develop their own understanding based on exposure to various schools of Indian philosophy.

**Role**:Children’s Book Illustrator & Designer**

We are developing a number of books related to Indian philosophy based on the knowledge encapsulated in the ancient Indian scriptures like the Gita, Vedas & Upanishads. One of our major strategies is to produce books for children based on our knowledge base. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work with us as an illustrator and designer for our books. The books are made for kids from 3 to 15 years of age. The role includes selling books, promoting our social media channels, selling merchandise, workshops etc. The detailed responsibilities are mentioned below.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design with audience in mind, have a basic understanding of the text
- Present a series of drafts of the illustrations for approval
- Collaborate with author regarding the style and look of graphics
- Ensure illustrations meet quality print standards
- Deliver professional, appealing designs
- Supply final artwork to set specifications

**Requirement**:

- Talent for visual communication, strong drawing skills
- Understanding of visual storytelling
