**Position: Database Administrator**

**Responsibilities**:

- Database Management

○ Implement efficient database schema design principles for optimal data storage and retrieval.

○ Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.

○ Monitor database performance metrics and identify potential bottlenecks for optimization.

○ Automate database administration tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Security & Compliance

○ Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive user data (PII) and financial transactions.

○ Manage user access controls and permissions to the databases.

○ Stay informed about the latest database security threats and implement necessary mitigation strategies.

○ Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Performance Optimization

○ Perform regular database performance analysis and identify areas for improvement.

○ Implement database tuning techniques (indexing, query optimization) to enhance query speed and overall platform responsiveness.

○ Monitor resource utilization and scale database infrastructure as needed.
- Change Management

○ Participate in the planning and execution of database schema changes and database migrations.

○ Ensure effective communication with developers and other stakeholders during database changes.

○ Test and document database changes thoroughly to minimize disruptions.
- Reporting & Analytics

○ Generate reports on database performance, resource utilization, and user activity.

○ Support data analysis and reporting needs for other departments (e.g., Development, Marketing, Finance).

○ Utilize SQL queries to extract relevant data from the databases for analysis.

**Required Skills**:

- Proven experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL & Elasticsearch/Solr database administration
- Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization techniques, and query optimization
- Experience with database security best practices and user access controls
- Experience with database performance monitoring and optimization tools
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for database automation (preferred)
- Experience with data backup and recovery procedures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator
