**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:
- **Menu Planning**: Collaborate with management to create innovative and authentic South Indian menus that appeal to our target audience while also considering seasonal availability of ingredients after liaising with senior chef.
- **Food Preparation**: Prepare and cook a wide range of South Indian dishes ensuring authenticity and consistency in flavour and presentation.
- **Ingredient Management**: Source and select the freshest and highest quality South Indian ingredients, spices, and condiments to maintain the authenticity and quality of our dishes.
- **Recipe Development**: Experiment with traditional South Indian recipes and ingredients to create unique and innovative dishes while staying true to the essence of South Indian cuisine.
- **Kitchen Operations**: Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- **Staff Training**: Train and mentor kitchen staff on South Indian cooking techniques, recipes, and presentation standards to maintain consistency and excellence in food quality.
- **Quality Control**: Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation on an ongoing basis, and make necessary adjustments to recipes and cooking techniques as needed.
- **Inventory Management**: Manage inventory levels of South Indian ingredients, spices, and condiments, and place orders as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels.
- **Customer Satisfaction**: Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure that customer preferences and dietary requirements are accommodated, and address any customer feedback or concerns related to South Indian dishes.
- **Hygiene and Safety**: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Chef specializing in South Indian cuisine.
- In-depth knowledge of South Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.
- Creativity and innovation in developing new South Indian dishes and recipes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- **Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.**:
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence.
- Certification or degree in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
