**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Land Surveying**:
- Conduct land surveys to determine property boundaries, topography, and features of land areas.
- Measure land elevations, contours, and distances using survey equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- Prepare and review survey data, sketches, and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- **Survey Equipment Operation**:
- Operate and maintain survey equipment such as theodolites, levels, GPS systems, and laser scanners to gather accurate measurements.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated and functioning properly to meet project requirements.
- **Site Assessment and Analysis**:
- Inspect and evaluate land and construction sites to verify physical boundaries and assist in site development planning.
- Collect data on topographical features, vegetation, and other relevant site characteristics.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Prepare detailed survey reports, maps, and drawings, ensuring all data is accurately recorded and easy to interpret.
- Provide written and verbal communication of survey findings to project teams, contractors, and clients.
- Prepare and file necessary documentation for landowners, governmental bodies, and construction teams.
- **Collaboration**:
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide survey data for designing and constructing infrastructure and buildings.
- Collaborate with legal teams to verify property boundaries and resolve disputes.
- **Compliance and Regulations**:
- Ensure that surveys are conducted in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities for land development projects.
- **Quality Control**:
- Conduct periodic checks and re-measurements to ensure the accuracy and consistency of survey data.
- Resolve discrepancies in survey results and make necessary corrections.
- **Project Support**:
- Provide ongoing support for ongoing construction projects, offering updated survey data and advice to construction crews.
- Assist in managing and coordinating field surveys to meet project timelines.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- **Education**: A degree or diploma in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in land surveying, with hands-on experience using survey equipment.
- **Licensing/Certifications**: Certification or licensure as a Land Surveyor (e.g., LSIT, PLS) may be required depending on location.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Proficiency in survey software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GPS systems, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of surveying techniques, data analysis, and legal property boundaries.
- **Knowledge**: Knowledge of local land surveying laws, land use regulations, zoning laws, and construction practices.
- **Attention to Detail**: Ability to record and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy.
- **Communication Skills**: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to clients and project teams.
- **Problem-Solving**: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve survey challenges.
