**Elections Data Researcher**:
Reuters is looking for a journalist or researcher with some experience of data collection and verification to begin work immediately on an exciting new project for our global clients.

The hire will collect publicly available information about current government office holders, such as their names, titles and links to their social media accounts. The work comprises collecting an initial set of data and then updating it as countries and constituencies go to the polls. There may also be an opportunity to work on other projects. The job would suit a recent graduate or someone with up to two years' experience.

**About the Role**

As a **Data Researcher** at Reuters**,** you will:

- Contact political parties to gather political party logos, party colors and party abbreviations and upload them to a webpage.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of the data collected
- Monitor news for big events affecting officeholders in several countries
- Work with others in the Reuters bureau to share information

**About You**:
To be our **Data Researcher**, you will likely have:

- 1-2 Years of experience
- Fluent English
- A University Degree
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of US politics
- Ability to use tools for monitoring the web such as Google Alerts
- A sense of urgency and strong communication skills
- It would be helpful (but not essential), if you also have experience performing data collection or data validation\
