**Company**: Qualcomm India Private Limited **Job Area**: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering **General Summary**: **Job Overview**: Qualcomm Snapdragon SOC’s long battery life is built on industry leading power management architectures. As a member of the APPS Power Optimization Team you will contribute to the optimization of power consumed of various test cases for upcoming Snapdragon SoCs designed for mobile, IoT, Wear, AR/VR and modem products. You will work with engineers across a range of disciplines (e.g. hardware, software and systems) and technologies (e.g. advanced CPUs, Hexagon DSPs, Adreno GPUs, IoT, AR/VR, ML/AI, Wireless LAN, GPS, low power audio, and low power sensors). **Responsibilities**: - Debug and Analyze the high power issues in APPS SW. - Find solutions to system level power and resource management problems. - Influence the hardware design to improve power consumption or simplify the power. - Conduct hands-on performance, power, and/or thermal studies to help optimize the SW power; - Effectively communicate experimental results, review with technical leads and peers, analyze outstanding issues; - Work with software teams, who implement modules that are clients of the power and resource management software, to gather requirements and provide guidance. - Work with software teams to identify and fix performance bottlenecks that increase power consumption. - Design tools to identify and debug power consumption issues on development platforms and commercial devices - Invent and file patents on technical solutions to relevant problems; **Preferred Qualification**: - 1 to 3 yrs experience in embedded software development and preferably on mobile or IoT devices - Experience in programming with at least one programming language like C, C++, Java, Python, etc. - Ability to approach problems at a system level - One or more of the following: - Device driver or board support package (BSP) knowledge or development experience - Experience with Linux - Understanding of ARM processor architectures - Experience with power optimization - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Experience in using debug tools like JTAG debugger, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers - Excellent problem solving skills. **Minimum Qualifications**: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
