The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Who You Are

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech

Relevant Experience: 12 - 15 years

Certification : Minimum RHSA or SUSE Certified

Technical Job description:

- Configure and install new Linux Servers (RHEL and SUSE)
- Perl scripting to automate aspects of systems maintenance
- Linux systems performance, tuning, and enhancements
- Install patches, configure machines and provide overall support of the Linux environment
- Serve as an escalation point to resolve problems on Linux servers and user environments
- Design and document processes and procedures to automate common tasks
- Work closely with Application Teams, Database Administrators, and Q/A personnel
- Mentor junior Linux systems administrators
- Provide root cause and failure analysis to resolve systems problems
- Strong working knowledge of virtualization technologies and VMware products
- Hands on Experience with HA on RHEL and SUSE
- Strong scripting knowledge: Perl scripting, or bash, or Python; and command line utilities.
- Must be able to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively.
- Understanding of basic and intermediate TCP/IP and internet protocols required
- Experience managing many mission critical servers
- Strong knowledge of RHEL and VCS clusters installation, configuration and implementation.
- Good experience on yum configurations and RHN network troubleshooting.
- Hands on experience with Redhat Satellite, PXE boot strategy and kick start.
- Previous experience with RHEL performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and security hardening
- Excellent understanding and knowledge of Networking and Storage Technologies.
- Hands on experience with SSH, NFS, DNS and LDAP.
- Excellent working knowledge on the Linux and Veritas file system and logical volume management.
- Knowledge of EMC technology, Time finder, BCV, SRDF
- Involved in preparing the scripts and cronjobs for regular task automation.
- Familiar with Apache webserver configuration.
- Good team player - one who can prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment
- Ability to handle heavy workloads with limited supervision.
- Extending support with onsite engineers to address any Network related issues.
