Research Project Fellow

Applications are invited from the meritorious students having Master’s qualification in Statistics or related fields for the position of Research Project Fellow (RPF) at Nilkaml School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics(NSOMASA), Mumbai. The job description involves administrative and academic support to students pursuing faculty supervised courses of two credits each during three semesters, namely, data driven analytics/treatise research projects both at UG and PG level and one semester of 9 credits PG internship programme either at an Industry or the School. The RPF will be responsible for initiating students to the culture of research, starting with identification of research problems, monitoring and tracking progress, preparing presentation schedule, and such other related duties assigned by respective program chairpersons. The RPF will contribute to the overall management of the research projects, maintenance and closure of activities including submission, evaluation and compiling compendium of project reports.

The RPF is expected to collaborate with at least one faculty member of the Department in an ongoing research project. Subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria of the NMIMS University’s Ph. D regulations, a research project fellow may enrol into the Ph.D. in Statistics program (part time) after successful completion of one year of research project fellowship.

The appointment shall be initially for a period of one year, renewable after one year depending on the performance of RPF provided the University and the Department finds progress of RPF worthy of it.
