**Responsibilities**:
- **Developing and Implementing Infection Control Policies**: Collaborate with healthcare leadership to develop and implement infection control policies and procedures based on evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements.
- **Monitoring Compliance**: Regularly assess compliance with infection control protocols, guidelines, and regulations. Conduct audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
- **Educating Staff**: Provide education and training to healthcare personnel on infection prevention and control measures, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and environmental cleaning.
- **Surveillance and Reporting**: Conduct surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), collect and analyze data, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders. Implement measures to prevent and control outbreaks.
- **Outbreak Management**: Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate response efforts to contain and manage outbreaks effectively. Collaborate with relevant departments and agencies to implement control measures.
- **Resource Allocation**: Assess and recommend appropriate resources, equipment, and supplies necessary for infection prevention and control activities. Participate in budget planning and procurement processes.
- **Research and Quality Improvement**: Stay updated on emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance trends, and best practices in infection prevention. Participate in research projects and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
- **Collaboration**: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including infection control committees, nursing staff, physicians, environmental services, and administration, to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
**Qualifications**:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred
- Experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, and infectious diseases
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
