**We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Sanctions Level 3 Quality Assurance**

The role holder is responsible for conducting Quality review on Level 3 sanctions alerts for Transaction and Name screening to determine whether the alerts have been correctly reviewed following Global Sanctions Policy and relevant Procedures for Sanctions alert investigation. The role holder will support the Regional Head of QA for reporting and training activities related to these reviews, as well as providing day-to-day support to stakeholders as a member of the regional team. The role holder will support the second line of defence oversight of sanctions risk within the Region through process review and risk identification.

The role holder contributes to continuous improvement in competence and oversight of Regional sanctions risk mitigation activities through:

- Conducting quality assurance review on regional level 3 alert investigation
- Providing governance insights to key stakeholders
- Proactively identifying process and knowledge gaps and areas of improvement

**Quality Review**:

- Ensure full adherence to Global Standards Policy within Region, including but not limited to related Sanctions Guidance and Operating Procedures
- Proactively and continuously manage, identify, mitigate and escalate Sanctions risk.
- Where identified escalate Sanctions breaches, escalate in the appropriate manner to the required escalation point
- Where appropriate, ensure corrective actions are performed for errors

**Providing Governance to Stakeholders**:

- Analyse error trends, themes and root cause to articulate key risks and issues.
- Assist in preparing monthly QA MI pack to ensure concise, accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders.
- Share QA findings and recommendations with relevant stakeholders and engage actions owners
- Foster positive and professional working relationships with

**What you’ll do**:

- The role will support QA lead in providing stakeholders confidence that sanctions risks are properly mitigated
- Role holder will start with learning a subset of alerts, then be cross-trained to other alert types
- New joiner will receive on the job training, and their work will be reviewed by experienced staff until satisfactory
- Proactive ongoing learning is required and there are mandatory annual training and assessments
- The role requires close working contact with colleagues within the team and across key functions
Requirements

**What you will need to succeed in the role**:

- Proven experience in one or more risk or compliance roles, preferably with exposure to Sanctions
- Understanding of Sanctions regulations and their practical impact on the bank’s operation
- Knowledge of HSBC internal banking systems and SWIFT messages (preferred but non-mandatory)
- Experience working with local and regional stakeholders
- Strong risk awareness and analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong process improvement mindset with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues
- Excellent English spoken and written communication skills
