Shift Incharge

**Job Title: Shift Incharge - ETP/STP Industry**

**Job Overview**: As a Shift Incharge in the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) or Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) industry, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations, managing a team of operators, and ensuring the efficient and compliant functioning of the treatment plant during your designated shift.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Operational Oversight**:

- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the operators and technicians during the assigned shift.
- Monitor the day-to-day operations of the ETP/STP to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and operational protocols.

2. **Team Management**:

- Lead, mentor, and train shift personnel, fostering a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
- Schedule shifts, breaks, and assignments to optimize workforce efficiency.

3. **Process Optimization**:

- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize treatment processes and maintain high operational efficiency.
- Identify areas for process improvement and coordinate with the engineering team for implementation.

4. **Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution**:

- Respond promptly to operational issues, alarms, and deviations from standard operating conditions.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to address and resolve technical problems.

5. **Quality Assurance**:

- Monitor water quality parameters and ensure that treated effluent meets specified discharge standards.
- Implement corrective actions to address deviations from quality standards.

6. **Safety and Compliance**:

- Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all team members adhere to safety guidelines.
- Verify compliance with environmental regulations and report any non-compliance incidents to the relevant authorities.

7. **Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed shift logs and reports on operational activities, incidents, and maintenance performed.
- Communicate effectively with incoming and outgoing shift personnel to ensure a seamless transition.

8. **Emergency Response**:

- Coordinate emergency response activities during incidents such as equipment failures, power outages, or other unforeseen events.
- Implement contingency plans to minimize the impact of emergencies.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the ETP/STP industry.
- In-depth knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in operating and managing shifts in ETP/STP facilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLCs, and other control systems.

**Soft Skills**:

- Decision-making ability and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of environmental compliance.
