Duty Medical Officer need to be a graduate from

INDIAN UNIVERSITY MBBS minimum or a foreign university graduate having cleared FMGE and have a Tamilnadu Registration number compulsorily.

Minimum 1 year experience in ER/ICU /IP wards is must.

General duties are listed as below
- Perform initial assessments of patients in the Emergency Room (ER), OPD, and IPD, ensuring immediate stabilization and treatment as per hospital protocols.
- Identify critical cases (especially cardiology-related emergencies like chest pain, arrhythmias, or suspected myocardial infarctions) and escalate to the consultant or specialist on duty.
- Record patient history, perform physical examinations, and order relevant diagnostic tests for timely diagnosis.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Cardiology team and other specialty consultants for managing cases requiring advanced care.
- Provide timely updates to consultants on critical patient conditions and follow their directives for treatment or referrals.
- Participate in bedside rounds with the consulting teams and ensure effective execution of treatment plans.
- Handle medical emergencies, including cardiac arrests, trauma, and acute conditions, following ACLS/BLS protocols.
- Be an active participant in **Code Blue** situations, ensuring efficient resuscitation and stabilization of patients.
- Guide and assist nursing staff and paramedics during emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, including patient case sheets, prescriptions, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure compliance with NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals) and other statutory standards in documentation and patient care practices.
- Update the hospital’s Medical Records Department (MRD) on patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Prescribe medications and treatments as per consultant guidelines, ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and ethical practices.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust care plans accordingly, under consultant supervision.
- Counsel patients and their families on ongoing treatment plans, including lifestyle modifications for cardiac care.
- Supervise and mentor Physican Assistnts, interns, and other para medical staff in clinical procedures and patient management.
- Participate in clinical audits, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Attend training sessions and stay updated on medical advancements, particularly in Cardiology.
