**Responsibilities**:

- Develop comprehensive training programs and materials for medical coders at various levels, including beginners and experienced professionals.
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and training requirements within the organization.
- Design and deliver engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and seminars on medical coding concepts, guidelines, and best practices.
- Provide instruction on various coding systems, such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, and educate coders on accurate code assignment, documentation requirements, and coding compliance.
- Utilize various training methodologies, including classroom instruction, e-learning modules, webinars, and hands-on practice, to accommodate different learning styles and maximize knowledge retention.
- Use coding scenarios and case studies to reinforce coding principles and promote critical thinking skills.
- Stay updated on current coding guidelines, regulations, and industry trends to ensure training content reflects the latest coding practices and compliance standards.
- Assess trainee performance and provide constructive feedback to support their learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with coding managers and supervisors to identify individual coder development needs and provide targeted coaching and mentoring.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback surveys, and performance evaluations.
- Participate in the development and review of coding policies, procedures, and documentation templates.
- Maintain accurate training records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality assurance requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or other relevant coding certifications (e.g., CCS, COC).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a medical coder in a healthcare setting, preferably in a variety of specialties.
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems and guidelines (e.g., ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS) and coding conventions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex coding concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Experience in designing and delivering effective training programs for adult learners.
- Familiarity with medical coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Proficient in using coding references and online tools (e.g., encoder software, codebooks).
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple training initiatives concurrently.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on coding changes and industry advancements.
