Quality & Audit Associate

ESG solutions enable investors to develop and integrate responsible investing policies and practices, engage on responsible investment issues, and monitor portfolio company practices through screening solutions. It also provides climate data, analytics, and advisory services to help financial market participants understand, measure, and act on climate-related risks across all asset classes. In addition, ESG solutions cover corporate and country ESG research and ratings enabling its clients to identify material social and environmental risks and opportunities.

OVERVIEW

ISS ESG is seeking a Quality & Audit Associate to join our Global ESG Methodology team in our Mumbai location (alternatively in our Manila location).

ESG Methodology is a horizontal function across all ESG research and solution verticals, ensuring high quality and consistency of methodologies, innovative solutions, and gold standards in research and resulting signals.

The focus of the Quality & Audit Associate role will be to support the Quality Management and Assurance Lead by building quality management structures for the ISS ESG Research team, primarily through the creation and governance of an internal audit regime geared toward quality management. The Quality Associate will contribute to executing a Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle and will closely cooperate with the respective research and product teams to continuously ensure that the highest research and data quality standards are maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, plan, and execute a robust internal audit framework within ISS ESG Research
- Further establish protocols and develop audit procedures for research about sensitive research topics in cooperation with compliance and the research team
- Organize and participate as key contact for external quality audits
- Monitor compliance with quality requirements via checks and audits
- Document and maintain relevant audit procedures, requirements, etc.
- Identify areas with a need of improvement, plan and implement changes and provide training, tools, and techniques to enable analysts to achieve quality standards (through corrective action and continuous improvement)
- Maintain quality controls
- Develop and report on relevant audit KPI metrics
- Monitor developments in the responsible investment space, review and affirm alignment of our quality approach with relevant regulatory and voluntary standards
- Establish deep relationships and partner with research and product teams to facilitate further integration of quality structures and processes
- Initiate quality enhancements in line with client and market expectations
- Identify processes and perform extensive Business Process Mapping and analysis
- Perform gap analysis, internal quality audits, and audit reporting within ISS ESG Research
- Support the QM&A team in the implementation of a Quality Management System using the PDCA cycle
- Actively monitor the status of preventative and corrective actions
- Provide training on quality principles, process mapping, and process management to employees
- Manage KRIs and KPIs within the QMS

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors/Master in Economics, Environment, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Logistics, IT or any similar fields is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in an audit-related role (Quality Management System Audit preferred)
- Knowledge of ESG investor research or comparable services to the financial industry
- Relevant audit and/or quality certifications (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Lean/Six Sigma, ISO 31000, ASQ Certification etc.)
- Experience with or knowledge of quality management regimes and techniques desirable (ISO9001 implementation preferred)
- Strong technical (Excel-based) and analytical skills, particularly in the areas of quantitative research, analysis, and data management
- Experience with Project Management tools such as MS Project, Jira, MS Visio, MS Office, SharePoint, etc.
