**Overview**
- The TGT Social Studies Teacher will deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in alignment with the Cambridge curriculum. The role involves fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and a global perspective among students while promoting an understanding of history, geography, political science, and economics.

**Responsibilities**

**Teaching and Lesson Planning**:

- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons as per the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum standards for Social Studies.
- Cover a range of topics, including history, geography, civics, economics, and global perspectives.
- Develop detailed lesson plans, schemes of work, and innovative teaching materials.
- Use varied teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities, ensuring inclusive education.
- Employ inquiry-based learning, project work, and collaborative activities to deepen student engagement.

**Student Assessment and Evaluation**:

- Design and administer formative and summative assessments as per Cambridge standards.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on performance and progress.
- Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE examinations by conducting practice sessions and revision classes.

**Classroom Management**:

- Create a positive and disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Encourage critical thinking, independent research, and group discussions.
- Support students in developing skills like research, analysis, and problem-solving.

**Curriculum Integration and Enrichment**:

- Integrate cross-curricular themes such as global citizenship, sustainable development, and cultural diversity into lessons.
- Organize field trips, workshops, and activities to provide experiential learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary projects and school events.

**Professional Development**:

- Stay updated with the latest Cambridge curriculum guidelines and teaching methodologies.
- Attend workshops, training programs, and faculty development sessions.
- Participate in peer observation and mentoring to enhance teaching practices.

**School Events and Activities**:

- Actively contribute to school events, competitions, and celebrations involving Social Studies themes.
- Guide students in participating in Model United Nations (MUN), debates, and essay-writing competitions.
- Support the school in organizing exhibitions, cultural programs, and awareness campaigns.

**Administrative Duties**:

- Maintain lesson plans, assessment records, and documentation as per school policies.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, exam papers, and other administrative requirements in a timely manner.
- Assist in parent-teacher meetings and share actionable insights on student development.

**Skills Description**

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or a related field.
- A B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification is mandatory.

**Experience**:

- 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in Cambridge or international curricula.
- Familiarity with Cambridge IGCSE teaching and assessment standards is essential.

**Skills**:

- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for teaching and assessment.
- Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and staff.
