**Job Description: Scrub Nurse (Operating Room Nurse)**

**Job Type**: Full-time.

**Job Summary**:
The Scrub Nurse is a critical member of the surgical team, responsible for assisting the surgical team during operative procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing and managing surgical instruments, and ensuring the overall safety of the patient during surgery. The scrub nurse works in close collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other operating room personnel to ensure efficient and effective surgical procedures.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Sterile Field Management**:

- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Set up and maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure, ensuring proper techniques are followed.
- Perform surgical scrub, donning sterile gloves and gowns before assisting with the surgery.
- **Assisting the Surgeon**:

- Hand surgical instruments to the surgeon in a timely and accurate manner.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs during the procedure and assist with various tasks such as suturing, dressing, and other intra-operative duties.
- Monitor and manage the surgical instruments to ensure they are always within reach and properly sterilized.
- **Patient Safety**:

- Ensure patient safety by following protocols to prevent contamination, infection, and injury during surgery.
- Monitor the patient’s condition and assist in the identification of any potential risks or complications.
- **Instrument Management**:

- Organize and prepare surgical instruments and supplies based on the surgical procedure.
- Count all instruments, sponges, and needles before, during, and after the procedure to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
- **Post-operative Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the removal of surgical drapes and help transfer the patient to the recovery room.
- Ensure proper disposal of surgical waste and clean-up of the operating room after the procedure.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with the surgical team to ensure smooth operation of procedures.
- Communicate any concerns or changes in patient status to the surgical team immediately.
- **Documentation**:

- Accurately document details related to the surgical procedure, including instruments used, counts, and any complications.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
- Completion of a nursing program with specialization in perioperative nursing preferred.
- **Experience**:

- Prior experience in a hospital or surgical setting is preferred.
- Experience as a scrub nurse or circulating nurse in the operating room is an advantage.
- **Certifications**:

- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required.
- Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification is preferred.

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain focus and organization in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient positioning during surgery.
- Ability to handle stressful and emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

**Working Conditions**:

- Work will primarily take place in the operating room environment.
- May involve irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Exposure to bodily fluids, surgical instruments, and high-pressure environments.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month

- Day shift
