The Principal System Administration role is responsible for administrating and supporting all servers, virtualization, operating systems, and related infrastructure. Responsible for all assigned tasks defined for this support level category to provide customer service. This position entails a wide variety of tasks and crosses technical disciplines. Will work closely with other delivery personnel and directly with customers.

**Together with**:

- Perform intermediate server administration tasks and troubleshooting without assistance.
- Demonstrates intermediate-level knowledge in the areas of:

- Filesystems (NTFS, ZFS, EXT2/3/4)
- Disk-management technologies (Windows Disk Manager, LVM, RAID levels)
- Local and remote disks (SAN, NAS)
- Windows Server (2003, 2008, 2012 R2), HP-UX, Linux (RHEL, CentOS, SuSE, Ubuntu)
- Performance optimization
- Analyzing system logs
- Security tuning & hardening
- Microsoft / Linux Clustering tools
- Microsoft / Linux CLI tools
- Amazon Web Services
- Microsoft WSUS
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- VMware Virtual Machine management
- LDAP
- Active Directory
- Skilled in installing, configuring, and upgrading servers.
- Skilled in configuring and performing server maintenance including:

- Reviewing and patching for security vulnerabilities
- Software installation
- User management and account creation (OS tools, LDAP, RADIUS)
- Backups and restores natively or through third-party tools.
- Understands intermediate Syslog Errors and Windows Event log Errors.
- Can develop scripts to automate intermediate server administration tasks.
- Can Develop Project Plans and coordinate intermediate server tasks and migrations.
- Knowledge of network management technologies (DNS, IPTables, routing topologies)

**In combination with**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in CIS or related field or equivalent work experience
- Skilled in installing, configuring, and upgrading Windows Operating Systems
- Skilled in configuring and performing diagnostics on Windows PCs
- Demonstrated working knowledge in the areas of:

- Microsoft Active Directory
- Microsoft On-Premises Exchange 2010
- Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1, 10
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2, 2012R2
- High degree of ownership and accountability in work.
- Exhibits adaptability and flexibility when changes are introduced.
- Able to work without supervision. Will seek advice / escalate to customer and/or Data Intensity Sr. SA / Management when needed.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Demonstrates “customer care” for both internal and external customers about all communications.
- Able to lead and participate in conference calls.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude.
- Team player.
- Develop reports that are clear and require little to no editing but may require some technical oversight prior to delivery to the customer.
