**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Design Development**:

- Create unique and culturally inspired designs for a variety of ethnic wear, including sarees, lehengas, kurtas, and fusion wear.
- Research and identify emerging trends in ethnic fashion, incorporating them into designs.
- **Fabric and Material Selection**:

- Source and select fabrics, colors, and embellishments that align with the brand’s vision.
- Collaborate with têxtile designers to create custom fabrics when necessary.
- **Technical Specifications**:

- Prepare detailed technical sketches and specifications for production teams.
- Work closely with pattern makers and sample makers to ensure design integrity during the creation process.
- **Collection Planning**:

- Conceptualize and develop seasonal collections, including mood boards and presentations for stakeholders.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to align designs with promotional campaigns.
- **Trend Analysis**:

- Stay updated on market trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings in ethnic fashion.
- Conduct market research to inform design decisions and enhance brand positioning.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work alongside other designers, merchandisers, and production teams to streamline the design-to-production process.
- Participate in fittings and provide constructive feedback for adjustments.
- **Quality Control**:

- Oversee the quality of samples and final products, ensuring they meet brand standards and customer expectations.
- Address any production issues that arise, collaborating with production teams to find solutions.
- **Brand Representation**:

- Represent the brand at fashion shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and insights.
- **Sustainability Initiatives**:

- Promote and implement sustainable practices in design and sourcing to align with eco-friendly trends in the fashion industry.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in fashion design, preferably in ethnic or traditional wear.
- Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and creativity.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of garment construction and production processes.
