About the role: Lead the vision, roadmap and platform engineering development for the best-in-class enterprise-wide AI Platforms with focus on the needs of the data science community to cover use cases ranging from experimentations to industrialization. Improve the business value of the AI platforms by working closely with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, DDIT and business partners to enable delivery of various data science and AI use cases. Drive continuous platform improvements ensuring robust operations, architecture, cost efficiency and optimization
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Lead platform engineering with focus on enabling end to end capabilities for data scientists, across AI Platforms. Enable teams to demonstrate the platform for a wide range of data science and AI use cases from experimentations to industrialization.
- Deliver self-serve capabilities enabling data scientists to create environments for POC / POV / Industrialization of machine learning models.
- Create guidelines and shared libraries, drive standardization, incorporating MLOps, DevOps and SecOps standard methodologies into the machine learning tools and processes, Coach other Internal and External resources throughout the implementation and support of the data science products and capabilities
- Responsible for regular reviews with the delivery teams, to ensure all the tasks are in alignment with approved solution architecture for all the use cases under their scope. Govern the overall roadmap, capabilities, tool selection and design.
- Perform assessments on use cases on-boarding on to the platforms to ensure alignment to platform governance, frameworks, and principles. Pro-actively engage with Technology & Platform partner to jointly strive for innovation and engage in Design Partnerships
- Ensure on time, within budget, compliant, secure, and quality delivery of portfolio.Continuous improvement to automate capabilities, simplify landscape and reduce cost.
- Lead the team members and provide thought leadership aligned with expected results ensuring consistency of implementation approach and alignment to applicable methodologies, processes, tools, and standards.
- Ensure alignment to ISRM, Legal, ethics and other compliance policies and procedures in defining architecture standards, patterns, and platform solutions.

**Minimum requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology discipline; an advanced degree and related accreditations a plus.
- 15+ years of IT experience in a highly qualified function such as senior IT Leader, in the area of Data and Analytics with strong exposure to Platform Architecture and Engineering.5+ years of experience in Data Science with focus on platform engineering in a highly qualified technical function and global matrix organization
- Experience in AWS Sagemaker, Databricks, R Studio, Snowflake, Dataiku and related data science technologies.Good experience on AWS Cloud Services, AWS Certified Solution Architecture certification is preferred
- Prior experience in creating products or part of Product Development teams.Track record of broad industry experience and solid understanding of complex enterprise IT landscapes and relationships as well as driving business transformations
- Experience with code management tools, CI/CD, automated testing is required.Specialization in Pharma Domain is required and understanding of usage across the end-to-end enterprise value chain.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, accountability, written and verbal communication skills, and time management aligned with Novartis Values & Behaviors; deep technical expertise and understanding of the business processes and systems.
- Experience in leading vendor and customer expectations and driving techno-functional discussion; understanding of the demand to sustain and project financial processes.A track record inrunningg successful information technology global teams that are culturally diverse in matrix organizations.
- Customer orientation: Demonstrable ability to communicate across various customers, including internal and external, and align with all levels of IT and business partners. Excellent negotiation skills, experience with agile and DevOps methodology, capability to think strategically.
