Physics and Maths Mentor

**Position: Mentor - Physics and Maths** Athena Education runs a coveted Knowledge Centre that mentors bright high school students worldwide on research and experimental projects to help them develop scientific orientation and build their profile. The team works on projects in diverse fields. For this role, we are looking for a creative STEM thinker to help students develop their projects in Science, Biotechnology, Engineering, Mathematics, etc. With our students in 15 countries, this is an opportunity to work with a very diverse group of students and projects. You will also help students prepare for and be a part of the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (IGEM), Biology Olympiad, John Hopkins Summer Program, ST Yau High School Science Award ( Relevant for all science and tech fields), Cambridge Medicine Summer School, IRIS India, etc. Due to this diversity and other Athena initiatives, you will have the opportunity to grow as a future science thought leader. **Who we are**:Athena is India's largest institution in the "premium undergraduate study abroad" space. Founded 9 years ago by two Princeton graduates, Poshak Agrawal and Rahul Subramaniam, Athena is headquartered in Gurgaon, with offices in Mumbai and Bangalore, and caters to students from 14 countries. The program has shown incredible results, with students being admitted to universities such as Harvard University, Princeton University, Yale University, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, MIT, Brown, Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago - to name a few. **Key Skills**: - Excellent understanding of scientific rules and methods - Degree in **Physics** or a related disciplineability to design Maths/Physics related projects - Research skills - Strong multitasking abilities - Excellent strategic planning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills - Client Management - _Taking pride and ownership in work_ **Key Responsibilities**: - **Drive Physics and Mathematical projects with students** - Analyzing the profiles, strengths, and weaknesses of scholars thoroughly, and working with them to create an assortment of projects to enable holistic learning and profile development. - Communicate the Student's progress effectively to Parents and the Counseling team. - Adjusting working styles to suit different Scholars. - Communicating effectively with Scholars, the Counseling team, HOD, Founders, and parents. - **Conduct workshops that build technical skills, logical reasoning, and research skills in students.** - Keeping themselves updated on developments and research in the field. - Conducting training sessions, workshops, conferences, and other continuing education initiatives. - **Guide team to produce excellent creative projects** - In essence, the Consultant, in conjunction with the R&D Head, is responsible for the Learning and Development of the team in terms of project planning and execution skills. **Education and Experience**: - Masters'/ M.Phil/Ph.D. in Physics or related disciplines from top colleges in India - 0 to 2 years of work experience - Preferred education from a top college abroad **Why should you be interested?** - **Impact** - Working with Athena will provide you with an opportunity to bring about a positive impact in the lives of the best students in the country - the future pioneers of the world - Opportunity to grow as a thought leader in Physical Science and innovation - **Team and Culture** - We are a daring collection of adventurers dedicated to excellence and growth.
