Introduction:
Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineering is responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of various infrastructure components as an integrated service. The function provides technical support and expertise to the incident management process as well as diagnosis and resolution of cross-functional problems in the environment, identify and address monitoring and data gaps, and help engineer solutions to challenges in operational processes.

The lead of the SRE team is expected to act as a player-coach, developing SRE talent and practices in the organization through leading by example.

What will you be doing?
- Proactively monitor the environment, identifying anomalies and leading indicators to prevent infrastructure problems before they turn into outages and incidents.
- Support the major incident management process to isolate problems and develop a path to remediation.
- Support the post-incident and problem management process to ensure root causes are correctly identified and problems are properly remediated.
- Identify gaps in monitoring and observability and prioritize their resolution according to the overall needs of infrastructure stability and performance.
- Champion adoption of advanced monitoring tools and processes using techniques such as big data analysis and response automation.
- Lead by example, acting as a player-coach to develop the SRE team while raising the bar on operational excellence within infrastructure team line functions.
- Engage with engineering to create enhancements to infrastructure products to improve their resiliency and observability.

What we’re looking for:

- Functional expertise in the design and operation of complex technical systems and components.
- Experienced in use of big data tools and technologies for root cause analysis and predictive analytics.
- Experience developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience using various monitoring tools and technologies, such as Application and Network Performance Management.
- Expert understanding of computer networking with ability to read packet captures and utilize them to understand the behaviour of distributed systems.
- Ability to read stack traces, memory dumps and similar debugging information.
- Experience teaching all of these skills to others.
