Fashion Design Faculty

**Position Overview**:
The Fashion Design Faculty member is responsible for teaching undergraduate or graduate-level courses in fashion design, fostering creativity, and preparing students for careers in the fashion industry. This position requires a combination of academic knowledge, practical experience in fashion design, and a passion for inspiring and mentoring students. Faculty members are expected to create a dynamic learning environment through lectures, hands-on projects, critiques, and collaborations. They will also engage in departmental meetings, professional development, and contribute to the overall development of the fashion design curriculum.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Teaching & Curriculum Development**:

- Teach a variety of courses in fashion design, including but not limited to design principles, garment construction, fashion illustration, pattern making, têxtile science, fashion history, and sustainable design.
- Develop, update, and implement curriculum that reflects current industry trends, techniques, and technology.
- Provide effective and engaging lectures, demonstrations, and assignments to support student learning.
- Mentor students in their creative processes, providing constructive feedback on design projects and technical work.
- Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving in fashion design contexts.
- **Student Support & Mentorship**:

- Offer academic guidance and career advice to students pursuing degrees in fashion design.
- Facilitate individual and group critiques to help students refine their design skills and portfolio.
- Promote professional development opportunities such as internships, industry events, and networking.
- **Research & Professional Development**:

- Engage in professional development activities to stay current with trends, tools, and technologies in fashion design.
- Participate in relevant industry events, workshops, and conferences.
- Conduct research or creative work in fashion design and contribute to the advancement of the discipline.
- **Collaboration & Service**:

- Collaborate with colleagues in the department to ensure a cohesive and innovative learning environment.
- Serve on academic committees, contribute to departmental meetings, and support university initiatives.
- Engage with the local and global fashion industry to create partnerships that benefit students and the institution.
- **Administrative Responsibilities**:

- Maintain up-to-date records of student performance, including grading, assessments, and feedback.
- Participate in course scheduling and assist in the development of new courses as needed.
- Assist in organizing fashion shows, student exhibitions, or other public-facing events to showcase student work.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- A Master's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required for part-time or adjunct positions.
- **Experience**:

- Proven professional experience in fashion design, including experience with garment construction, fashion illustration, pattern making, and têxtiles.
- Experience in teaching or mentoring students is preferred, but not required.
- Active engagement in the fashion industry through design, exhibitions, or collaborations is a plus.
- **Skills and Abilities**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, faculty, and industry professionals.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD for fashion design, and other relevant tools.
- Deep knowledge of fashion history, trends, design techniques, and sustainable fashion practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced academic environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to work in a studio environment and demonstrate design techniques.
- Must be able to lift and move design materials, patterns, and other instructional supplies.

**Application Instructions**:
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month

Schedule:
