Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
1. Preoperative Assessment:
Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluation of liver transplant patients.

Review medical history, laboratory results, and imaging studies.

Optimize patients' medical conditions before surgery in coordination with hepatologists and surgeons.

2. Intraoperative Anesthesia Management:
Assist in administering general anesthesia and invasive monitoring.

Manage airway and ventilation, ensuring adequate oxygenation.

Monitor hemodynamics, fluid balance, and coagulation status.

Assist in massive transfusion protocols and administration of blood products.

Handle intraoperative complications such as bleeding, metabolic disturbances, and hemodynamic instability.

3. Postoperative Care & ICU Management:
Assist in transitioning the patient to the intensive care unit (ICU).

Monitor postoperative pain, ventilation, and hemodynamic stability.

Support the management of graft function, coagulation abnormalities, and immunosuppressive therapy.

Participate in multidisciplinary rounds for post-transplant care.

4. Academic & Research Activities:
Engage in academic learning, case discussions, and mortality/morbidity meetings.

Contribute to research projects and clinical audits related to liver transplant anesthesia.

Train and mentor junior residents and medical students.

5. Emergency & On-Call Duties:
Participate in on-call duties for liver transplant cases and other emergency surgeries.

Provide anesthesia support for critically ill patients in the ICU requiring intervention.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Training:
MBBS with MD/DNB in Anesthesiology.

Preferably with experience in transplant anesthesia or critical care.

Fellowship or additional training in Liver Transplant Anesthesia is desirable.

Technical & Clinical Skills:
Expertise in advanced airway management and ventilation strategies.

Proficiency in invasive hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive drug administration.

Experience in managing coagulation abnormalities and massive transfusion.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in critical care settings
