The process typically involves the following steps:
Design Creation: Create or obtain a design that you want to transfer onto the substrate. This can be a graphic, text, or a combination of both.

Printing: Print the design using a special type of ink called heat transfer ink. The design is printed in reverse or mirror image so that it appears correctly when transferred onto the substrate.

Preparing the Heat Press: Set up the heat press machine by adjusting the temperature and pressure settings according to the type of substrate and transfer material being used.

Positioning: Place the substrate, such as a garment or an item, on the heat press machine's lower platen. Ensure that the design is correctly positioned on the substrate.

Heat and Pressure Application: The heat press machine applies a combination of heat and pressure for a specific duration, which varies depending on the type of substrate and transfer material being used.

Cooling and Peeling: After the transfer process is complete, allow the substrate to cool down for a few seconds or as recommended by the transfer material manufacturer. Once cooled, carefully peel off the transfer paper, leaving the transferred design on the substrate.

Graphic heat presses come in various sizes and configurations, from small manual presses suitable for hobbyists to large automated machines used in commercial production settings. They can be used with different types of substrates, including garments, hats, bags, ceramic tiles, mousepads, and more. The choice of heat press will depend on your specific needs and the scale of your production.
