Job Responsibilities
- Detailed system level study of battery pack and its features. Create and analyze structural, electrical

and thermal models.
- Work collaboratively with mechanical, electrical, thermal, HW, SW, manufacturing and test teams.
- Requirements engineering and SOR preparation for Battery pack.
- Lead the system design of battery: Cell evaluation, selection, algorithms, de-rating strategies & DVVP

definition and implementation.
- Own the entire battery product development including mechanical, structural, battery interconnect,

HW and SW functions
- Develop & prototype battery design concepts and work with battery assemblers & test teams for

design verification and validation.
- Work in collaboration with other system teams (drivetrain & charger) to create robust product with

system USP’s.
- Be the internal custodian for charger development: Responsible for providing requirements for

charger development and for ensuring deliverables from charger team.
- Responsible for release process of Battery system (battery pack + charger) as per V model approach
- Keep abreast with evolving battery technologies and work with Head R&D for defining technology

roadmap for batteries
- Responsible for battery infra (setup, maintenance & utilization)
- cell & pack testers, loads, etc.
- Support industrialization of batteries for mass production (with suppliers & manufacturing plant)
- Support the coaching and development of battery team members

**Required Skills**:

- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical & electronics engineering / Power electronics
- Experienced in Systems approach and well versed in product design and development.
- Familiar with mechanical and thermal aspects of battery design.
- Proficient in working with electronic components used in batteries for Battery Management System

(BMS) design & development
- Proficient in development of protection and diagnostic circuitry in high current power electronics
- Well versed with standards for traction batteries - automotive battery design, safety & quality. Able

to coordinate with certification team for Type approval for Indian market.
- Experienced with EMI/ EMC compliant hardware design.
- Familiar with ISO26262 for automotive safety
- Hands-on exposure to battery development including cell selection, characterization, pack design,

development, validation, ageing / lifecycles tests, SOC SOH algorithms
- Experienced in log analysis of battery data. Ability to translate observations into specific actionable

technical specifications & insights for product development & improvements
- Familiarity with chargers, able to specify requirements for chargers and act as a peer reviewer of

charger design
- In-depth knowledge and experience with automotive engineering development Methods, Processes

and Tools. (SDLC, V model, DFMEA, DRBFM basics, problem solving techniques)
