Junior Architect
Position Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Design & Development:

- Assist in the conceptual and schematic design phases of projects, contributing to design ideas, sketches, and plans. Develop preliminary architectural designs, plans, and 3D models under the supervision of senior architects. Conduct site analyses and surveys to support design decisions. 2. Drafting & Documentation:

- Prepare architectural drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and other documentation in alignment with project requirements and industry standards. Use software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite for drafting, rendering, and project documentation. Maintain and organise project files, records, and data for easy access by the project team. 3. Technical Coordination:

- Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, etc.) to integrate technical requirements into architectural designs. Assist in ensuring compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards. Support in the review of shop drawings, material samples, and technical submittals. 4. Collaboration & Communication:

- Participate in project meetings with clients, stakeholders, and consultants to discuss project objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Communicate design concepts and project updates effectively to team members and clients. Contribute to client presentations and design reviews with creative input and solutions. 5. Construction Administration Support:

- Support senior architects and project managers during the construction phase by reviewing project progress, conducting site visits, and documenting findings. Assist in preparing field reports, responding to RFI’s (Requests for Information), and coordinating with contractors on project details. 6. Research & Development:

- Research materials, building systems, and design trends to inform project decisions. Contribute to sustainable design initiatives and incorporate environmental best practices into project work. 7. Quality Assurance & Compliance:

- Ensure all work aligns with the firm’s quality standards, client specifications, and industry best practices. Assist in conducting quality checks on design documents to identify potential issues and areas for improvement. Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus. 2-4 years of professional experience in architectural design and documentation. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with 3D rendering software is a plus. Knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and ADA compliance requirements. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Passion for sustainable and innovative design practices.
