SQL Server Dba

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced SQL Server, Azure SQL Server, and Synapse DBA to oversee the design, implementation, and management of our SQL-based infrastructure. In this role, you will maintain and optimize the performance, reliability, and security of our SQL and Synapse environments, ensuring the availability and integrity of critical data.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **SQL Server DBA Duties**:

- Administer, maintain, and optimize on-premise and cloud-based SQL Server databases.
- Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor database performance, perform tuning, and implement indexing strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
- Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions (Always On, Log Shipping, Replication).
- Perform database migrations and upgrades.
- Maintain and monitor SQL Server logs and job execution.
- Implement security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas.
- **Azure SQL Server and Synapse Responsibilities**:

- Administer and optimize Azure SQL Database and Synapse Analytics environments.
- Configure and maintain Azure SQL Managed Instances and Data Warehouse environments.
- Implement and manage data replication, disaster recovery, and scaling strategies within Azure.
- Monitor and optimize performance of Azure SQL and Synapse services using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Performance Insights.
- Work with Azure DevOps to automate deployments and manage infrastructure as code.
- Assist in managing data pipelines and integrating with other Azure services such as Data Factory and Power BI.
- Collaborate with cloud architects to design and implement scalable cloud architectures for analytics and data storage.
- **General DBA Responsibilities**:

- Perform regular database health checks and audits.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and regulatory standards are met.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all database environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues in both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Participate in capacity planning and future database architecture and growth.
- Provide 24/7 support on a rotating on-call basis.

**Requirements**:

- **Technical Skills**:

- Strong experience in SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2019 and/or Azure SQL Database and Synapse Analytics.
- Experience with SQL Server High Availability solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Clustering, etc.).
- Proficient in T-SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Strong knowledge of database security (e.g., encryption, access control).
- Experience in database backup and disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Experience with Azure services like Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Logic Apps, etc.
- Experience with Data Warehousing and ETL processes using Azure Synapse.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, including cloud computing concepts, and managing resources.
- **Experience**:

- 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA (including experience with Azure SQL and/or Synapse Analytics).
- Experience in managing and maintaining database environments in the cloud.
- Knowledge of automation, scripting, and DevOps methodologies is a plus (PowerShell, ARM Templates, Azure CLI, etc.).

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
