**Introduction**:

- Advanced administration experience with (1) of the following Database engines: MySQL / Oracle /
- PostgreSQL / SQL Server / Amazon Aurora
- Experienced setting up monitoring / alarming for production DB environments.
- Database migration and ETL experience
- The member needs to work closely with Development, the Business and Infrastructure Services teams.
- Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system.
- Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems.
- Management of creation, release, and configuration of production systems.
- Pre-production acceptance testing for quality assurance.
- Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security solutions.
- Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.
- Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS platform.
- Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization

Liaising with the Design authority to ensure all new components fit within the guiding principles

**What will you be doing?**
- Perform incident and problem management activities, including working closely with technology and business stakeholders to provide innovative and tactical solutions to issues as well as improving the performance of our Applications and processes; this will include managing major incidents, performing post incident reviews and coordinating with our various stakeholders.
- Database troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Experienced setting up monitoring / alarming for production DB environments.
- Database migration and ETL experience
- Off-hours on-call support will be required for this role on a rotational basis
- Knowledge of writing Infrastructure as code (IaC) using Cloudformation
- Experience with Core AWS services, Ability to use the AWS service APIs, AWS CLI
- Experience with Docker, Jenkins, GIT
- Strong notion of security best practices and Understanding of monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, X Ray
- Work with Java Developers and Automation Test Engineers to implement complete CI/CD pipelines
- Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system.
- Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
- Coordination of various support activities across the global team, including handover of issues, knowledge sharing, training and collaboration on strategic projects
- Independently identify repetitive or time consuming processes that can be automated, especially where they benefit multiple business areas, and deliver a sustainable solution that can be leveraged for other areas as needed.

**What we’re looking for**:

- 6+ years of experience in Enhancement & Production support
- Able to build scripts, dashboards, read & analyse logs from cloud watch, xray, monitor activities, alerts etc
- Working knowledge of AWS Basic services like EC2, S3, VPC, API Gateway, Lambda etc
- Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements
- Expertise using Chef for configuration management
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Cloudformation Templates

**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related.
